Time to start planning those summer self care activities!

Summer brings with it a whirlwind of activities and adventures for families to enjoy. Yet, with all hustle and bustle of planning vacations and orchestrating endless playdates, one crucial aspect often gets sidelined: mom’s self care activities.

As we all know, the summer season can also be incredibly demanding for moms. We juggle the responsibilities of keeping our children entertained, safe, and engaged. However, it’s precisely during these busy months that the need for self care becomes paramount.

Planning Your Summer Self Care Activities

You plan summer vacations and camp schedules, why not add some self care to that summer planning? Incorporating self care activities into summer plans allows you time to recharge your battery.  And with a recharged battery you can approach the season with renewed energy and enthusiasm. Proactively planning for self-care, you can create a summer that’s not only enjoyable for their families but also fulfilling and nourishing for yourself.

What is the Mom Battery?

As moms, we often find ourselves operating on what we affectionately refer to as the “mom battery.” A mom battery is a finite source of energy and resilience that powers our daily lives. Constantly caring for others, whether it’s our children, partners, or aging parents, can gradually drain this precious resource. The drain can leave us feeling depleted and exhausted.

It’s essential to recognize the importance of recharging and refueling our mom batteries through self-care activities. Just as a car needs fuel to keep running smoothly, moms need to prioritize their own well-being and replenish their energy reserves regularly. Engaging in self-care isn’t selfish; it’s a necessary act of self-preservation. It allows us to show up as our best selves for our loved ones. By carving out time for rest, relaxation, and activities that bring us joy and fulfillment, we can ensure that we remain charged and ready to tackle whatever challenges come our way.

So, whether it’s scheduling regular spa days, setting aside time for outdoor yoga sessions, or planning solo getaways, get to scheduling. And be sure to use this Summer Self Care Activities List to get started
